"The attentive viewer will not fail to recognize the fact that Jana Farmanová
never finishes her stories. She leaves the endings open. The absence of
limitations is also a fundamental feature of her creation. Is it possible,
in her case, to talk about the style and brushwork? Yes, but her style of
painting is not only a mechanic transfer of acquired skills. It is a natural
seismograph of particular mood which pertains to the given topic.
Somewhere she is able to play fiddly with the detail, somewhere
she “scribbles” the surface of the canvas with a cheeky shallowness.
This might be the allure of her paintings – the moodiness, unpredictability
and unfeigned, even destructive sincerity. One more thing is crystal clear.
Alongside with all this, she enjoys her painting at full blast.
